Yesterday marked the start of the NBA summer league in Orlando. It will be there through the 12th of July then in Las Vegas from the 12th to the 22nd. There are a few Past Cats that are making strides in the summer league and making UK and themselves look good. More after the jump.

Drew Barker Excels
In this blog, I'm trying to center on UK basketball and basketball recruiting but when things come up with football and football recruiting, I will post something small on it, especially during the summer with not a whole lot of basketball (or really any sports) news coming out. More after the jump.

Past Cats News
Bledsoe to Suns
This news came about yesterday as the LA Clippers, in a 3 team trade, traded Eric Bledsoe to the Phoenix Suns, making yet another NBA team that has multiple past Cats on it. Archie Goodwin was recently drafted to the Suns this past week. More after the jump.

Analyzing the Trades Part 2
Archie Goodwin to the Phoenix Suns
In a bit of a surprise to many people, Archie Goodwin got drafted in the first round of the 2013 NBA draft. This trade did not include nearly as much drama as the trade for Nerlens Noel did. Namely because this trade only involved the Suns moving up one pick from the 30th pick to the 29th.
There was a lot of wheeling and dealing involved in the Suns ending up with the pick, but in the end, the Suns got Archie Goodwin and it didn't cost them much (taking on a sub $1 million dollar contract for one year) since they were moving up only one spot. In this post I'll talk more about what the pick means for Goodwin.
