Past Cats: NBA Summer League

Yesterday marked the start of the NBA summer league in Orlando. It will be there through the 12th of July then in Las Vegas from the 12th to the 22nd. There are a few Past Cats that are making strides in the summer league and making UK and themselves look good. More after the jump.

One of the biggest single moments involved two past cats when Daniel Orton threw down a big dunk on Doron Lamb. Although Lamb was on the wrong side of that dunk, he did very well yesterday with his 13 points and 2 assists. Today, he even improved on that with 16 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist. Over the last two days, he is 5 of 7 from three point range.

Orton has also been doing very well the past couple of days. Today he had 9 points and 7 rebounds in less than 17 minutes, and yesterday he had 15 points, 4 rebounds, and an assist in 19 minutes.

Neither of them measured up to Terrence Jones though. Jones was dominant yesterday in his one game so far. He played 29 minutes and was the top scorer and rebounder on his team. Jones had 24 points on 9-13 shooting with 12 rebounds yesterday. The downfall of that was that he had 5 turnovers. He obviously needs to work on that. Jones will play again tomorrow.

Liggins was alright with 2 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists yesterday. In the Magic's game today he did not  play due to a coach's decision.

Although this has only been the start of the summer league, it looks good for several past cats if things stay this way.

Ev'ry Wildcat Star will shine
